Marie has 17 years of archaeological fieldwork and research in Southeast Asia and is now focused on Guam-based projects. Her professional experience includes data and burial recovery, laboratory work, and monitoring. Her research interests are bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology with a focus on trauma and violence and gender archaeology. A dedicated advocate for public archaeology, Marie actively engages with diverse stakeholders to introduce the field and make it more accessible. She received her B.A. in Broadcast Communication and M.A. in Archaeology from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, Quezon City, where she is also completing her Certification in Professional Education.
