Jade has over 30 years of historic preservation management, and archaeological research and field experience working in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific Islands. The majority of her career has focused on cultural resource management for federal agencies including the U.S. Army and National Park Service. She has extensive experience in developing and managing complex contracts and financial assistance agreements and awards. Jade has experience building effective science partnerships and securing sources of support to conduct cooperative research efforts. She has helped federal, state and private organizations increase their science capacity, application, delivery and communication, and supported efforts to acquire scientific information, technical assistance, and educational support to better understand, protect and steward natural and cultural resources. Her broad research interests and specializations include paleoenvironmental reconstruction, vertebrate taphonomy, and Hawaiʻi’s pre– and World War II history.
